Phase 1 covers five subjects, including Navigation, Stability (Naval Architecture), and other written papers as per the DGS Chief Mate syllabus. Our live classes are structured subject-wise for focused preparation.

Navigation and Stability are consistently the most failed subjects in the Chief Mate written exam because they demand strong conceptual clarity in calculations (like Long by Chron, Mer Pass, GZ curves, and stability tables) rather than rote learning — an area where our teaching method focuses heavily on step-by-step problem solving.

Phase 2 focuses on advanced Stability and Engineering Knowledge, including Naval Architecture topics taught progressively across levels, building on the foundation covered in Phase 1.

Yes, you can join Naval Architecture 2 classes without having cleared Naval Architecture 1 first. It will require some extra effort on your part, but our instructor will brief you during the classes on how to bridge any conceptual gaps.

Our Orals batches are designed to help candidates "Think Like a Chief Officer" — covering Function 1, 2, and 3 scenarios for MMD India, along with real-time mock oral sessions and situational judgment training based on actual shipboard experience for UK MCA, AMSA (Australia), and MPA (Singapore) as well.

Second Officers who have completed the requisite sea time as per DGS/MMD regulations and hold the prerequisite qualifications are eligible to appear for the Chief Mate FG written and oral exams.
